♦ A cubistic Swedish landscape portrayed by Sven Skald in 1957. A peaceful scenery of a mid century modern artwork with gorgeous greens and light grey and light blue sky, woven passepartout and light grey wooden frame. The technique used is hard to tell through the glass but Skald painted mostly in oil and pastel.

♦ Signed, Sven Skald 57. Original frame shows minor wear due to age but only adds to the gorgeous patina and authenticity of a mid century artwork.
Sven Skald (1905-1975) was a Swedish painter. He was the son of the janitor at Liljevalchs Konsthall, and initially only followed his artistic vision in his spare time as he was a full time metal worker. In 1944, Sven Skald took up painting full time due to health issues and he studied both in Sweden and abroad. His landscapes eventually earned him an exhibition where it once all started from his father, at Liljevalchs Stockholmssalonger in 1955 (among many more).

♦ Measurements 55x45 cm (frame).
